Today we are highlighting the work of Jason White, Executive Chef at Food For Thought, and his team. Food for Thought (@fftchicago) is a catering company based in Lincolnwood, Illinois.
[If he looks familiar, we featured him on our Instagram feed back in June -- but we felt we could highlight him again.]
Beginning April 8, the Food for Thought kitchen team of 16 began providing 250 meals every night for staff members at two separate hospitals on the south side of Chicago.
Meals included deli sandwiches & wraps for box lunches and microwaveable meals. Meals were produced from scratch, packaged and delivered each night between 11:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
The same team also prepares food drive grocery bags for their employees. Every Thursday their employees are welcomed to come and pick up a bag at their corporate kitchen in Lincolnwood, free of charge.
They also included fresh juice, whole chicken, vegetables, oranges, apples & toilet paper. Each week, around 75 employees participate in the program. Under the direction of Executive Chef, Jason White, this team has come together to help each other and those who are working around the clock to aid during this pandemic.
Please join us in celebrating the efforts of the Food for Thought team as they worked together to help their community and one another during these challenging times. To learn more and to support their work, visit their Instagram account.
