Professional chefs had a simple wish: a handheld immersion blender that struck the perfect balance between power and ease of use. That’s why we launched the BigRig™ family of commercial immersion blenders in 2021. For foodservice operators, the BigRig hit all the sweet spots. It’s powerful but also precise. It’s heavy-duty but also comfortable to hold and use.

Hamilton Beach Commercial’s BigRig™ immersion blenders have been growing in popularity. Then, we found out that chefs had one more thing on their wish list: a compact immersion blender that provided power in a smaller package. For them, we made the HMI009 BigRig™ Immersion Blender with a 9" (23 cm) shaft.

## What makes the HMI009 different?

Foodservice equipment retailers usually classify commercial immersion blenders in one of three categories:

- Small, light-duty immersion blenders
- Standard or medium-duty immersion blenders
- Large, heavy-duty immersion blenders

We noticed a gap. Why did heavy-duty blenders have to be large? Chefs still need power and precision when they’re working with small batches, after all. That’s when we realized it was time for a new addition to the BigRig™ family.

The HMI009 BigRig™ Immersion Blender with 9" (23 cm) Shaft allows chefs to quickly prepare sauces, purees, soups and emulsions right in the pot. It’s not like other compact commercial immersion blenders— here’s what sets it apart.

- **Variable speed:** From blending to pureeing, this immersion blender has 8 speeds to give chefs precise control over the texture of sauces, purees, soups, emulsions and more.
- **Dependable power:** The 250-watt motor is strong enough to power through ingredients fast.
- **Detachable shaft:** The 9" (23 cm) shaft is the ideal size for preparing food batches up to 3 gallons (11 liters). It detaches with a twist for easy cleanup and storage.
- **Comfortable grip:** The ergonomic handle makes the HMI009 easy to hold and maneuver, every time you use it.

## 5 reasons why every commercial kitchen needs a heavy-duty immersion blender

1. **Massive capacity.** With a 21”/53 cm shaft, our largest BigRig™ immersion blender has a blending capacity up to 42 gallons/159 liters.
2. **Small quantities.** If you need to emulsify a sauce, puree a few servings of salsa, or whip a little cream, the HMI009 is on the job.
