Making a great ice cream treat means making a mess.
When you’re adding delicious mix-ins and blending them thoroughly, splatters, fragments and crumbs end up everywhere. The time lost to cleaning can’t be helped. Or can it?
The new MixStation from Hamilton Beach Commercial changes the game. Not only does it speedily deliver consistently mixed frozen desserts, but its smart design cuts your cleaning time. In short, we took everything our customers love about the Mix ‘n Chill and made it better.

A frozen treat mixer that’s incredibly easy to clean
Restaurant operators told us that when blending ice cream treats, efficient cleaning is one of their biggest challenges. So when our engineers designed the MixStation, they pinpointed every opportunity to make it easier to rinse, wipe or sanitize.
Say goodbye to apron stripes: the splash shield effectively keeps everything contained in the splash zone. Magnetic fasteners hold the shield on securely and allow it to be pulled off for quick cleaning: no screws, no bolts, no latches to mess with.
The drip tray, too, is easy to remove. Pull out the tray, rinse it at the sink, then replace it in a flash.
Every part of the MixStation body is designed with smooth, rounded corners for fast cleaning. The seamless, durable plastic housing can be wiped down time and time again with no chipping or wear to the finish. The capacitive touch buttons respond to the touch of a finger and are sealed for easy wiping with no water ingress.
Made with operator ease in mind
We studied the movements of operators as they made and served frozen treats. We asked them about their pain points — the aspects of mixing frozen desserts that were awkward, difficult or inefficient. Then, we designed the MixStation to address every concern.
The workspace is wider than ever, with more than 8.5” (21.6 cm) of clearance so the operator can maneuver the cup as needed without restrictions. We added a contoured edge to the splash shield, enabling the operator to hold the cup naturally, without strain or wrist discomfort.
There’s no learning curve with the MixStation. If your operators are accustomed to using the Mix ‘n Chill, they’ll be able to use the MixStation right away.
Customization to make every frozen treat the best it can be
The HMD1000 features both a variable speed dial to give operators maximum flexibility in mixing frozen desserts and pre-programmed cycles for consistent results. It’s easy to upload additional programs — our Applications Team can create a custom program that the operator then uploads by inserting a USB drive into the back of the unit.
The HMD880 has a single speed and on-off rocker switch. Just flip the switch and go — it couldn’t be simpler!
Both MixStation models come standard with the 929 agitator: our most popular agitator for universal use with all kinds of mix-ins. For more options, add a specialty agitator:
- The 928 for gentle mixing, frothing milk, blending in syrups and making granita-type treats.
- The 930 for powerful mixing, especially with hard ice cream and chunky or challenging mix-ins
- The 933 for efficient mixing of all kinds of mix-ins, including candy, nuts and cookies
Team members got their hands full? Both the HMD1000 and HMD880 work with an optional foot pedal for hands-free power activation. With this feature, the operator doesn't have to fumble with the rocker switch or start/stop buttons.
